For an elite middle distance runner, 40-45 miles traveled per week is light work—but when you’re running for two, it’s a whole different story. Scott Abraham of Washington D.C’s WJLA ABC 7 recently caught up with Sarah Brown to tell her amazing story. Sarah was training for the Olympic Trials leading up to this summer’s Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, when she found out she was pregnant, but the Warrenton, Va. native never stopped running:
“My mind was trying to tell my body to go, but my body was like, ‘Nope, we’re good, we’re staying here.’ … My doctor said, ‘Are you sitting down?’ And it kind of clicked in my mind and he confirmed it. He said, ‘You’re pregnant,'” Sarah recalled. “I remember we went into the doctor’s office that first day and told him what our goals were…and he said, ‘Why wouldn’t you keep training?'”
