Icon is a management company that prides itself on representing the best talents in the sport & entertainment industry.

Not bounded by conventional ways of recruiting and managing talent, Icon has been able to separate itself from the rest by being simply something different. Icon is a company that not only tries to ensure that its clients make the most of their professional career on and off the field with post-career & social opportunities, but encourages their clients to make an impact in the world by giving back of themselves to the community.

It is Icon’s mission to be a base where its athletes and entertainers can find the necessary resources needed to personally, socially, and financially succeed in all endeavors.

ICON HISTORY

Icon Management Inc. is the brainchild of sport agent Kimberly N. Holland. During her last year of law school, Holland had stumbled on still another kind of legal career. An Olympic medalist was dissatisfied with his sports agent, and asked Holland to replace him. Holland had little interest in sports, but the talented athlete was persistent and persuasive. He had confidence that Holland could perform well as a sports agent, and after many prayers, she finally agreed to give it a try.

Icon’s mission is to provide its athletes with the foundation to attain the highest possible level of success.

This confidence pushed Kimberly into getting her sports agent license from the U.S.A. Track and Field Association and the International Association of Athletics Federation and opened her business, Icon Management, Inc in 2002.

By 2004, Icon Management boasted a roster of eleven Olympic and World Class track and field clients, including Olympic gold medalist Shawn Crawford and Bernard Williams, a brand new facility located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, and a new assistant, her youngest sister. In 2007, Holland was on a panel at the first University of Virginia School of Law Symposium on Sports and Entertainment Law. Icon also brokered a record-breaking, multi-million dollar endorsement deal for Walter Dix with Nike, making Dix the the highest-paid track athlete to come out of college. Holland went on to strike a similar deal for Octavious Freeman, making Freeman the highest paid collegiate turning pro in 2013.

Icon’s profile was raised by outstanding success on the track. At the 2008 Beijing Games, Icon brought home eight Olympic medals, doubling its accomplishment at Athens four years earlier.

Icon athletes added five more medals to the tally at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and in 2013, Icon clients brought home seven medals from the 14th IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia.

Trusted by her clients and respected by her colleagues, Holland has become a successful sports agent, but she has not abandoned her interest in entertainment. In fact in, Icon will be expanding its clientele list to the NFL and Entertainment Industry in the near future.
