As he gets ready for one of the most important outdoor seasons of his career, LaShawn Merritt has a lot on his mind and even more on his plate.

LaShawn recently took some time to talk all things track and field with Steve Sievert of the Miles and Meters Podcast. During the 30-minute segment, the 2008 Olympic champion and two-time World Champion in the 400 meters touches on a number of topics, including what the 2016 Rio Olympic Games might mean to his legacy, his personal-record breaking 2015 season, rivalries he’s developed with fellow competitors through the years and why he can’t stop thinking about Michael Johnson’s 400-meter world record.
